Aftercare: Tooth extraction
A few simple notes for the days after treatment. Keep this page.
Bite firmly on the gauze for 30–45 minutes.
For 24 hours don’t rinse, spit, use a straw or smoke, so the blood clot stays in place.
On the first day eat soft, cool food and chew on the other side.
Bleeding that won’t stop with gauze pressure, growing swelling or fever: call the same day.
